A budget based on amounts
Use this option to set and manage a budget based on a global amount for your project or per task list.
Budget type:
Choose whether you want to budget your project globally or per task list. In the second option, you can individually configure the calculation method for each of your task lists (see below).
Budget (amount):
This field allows you to define the overall amount you want to allocate to the budget. It is by referring to this amount that progress alerts will be triggered based on thresholds (percentage) that you have defined.
Calculation method - Member rate:
Use this method to calculate the project billable amount using the members’ hourly rates. This option allows you to define a different hourly rate for each member assigned to a project.
Calculation method - Service rate:
Use this method to calculate the project billable amount using the services’ hourly rates. This option allows you to associate an hourly rate to each different service. Whether by member or by service rate, you must set a specific budget for each one by clicking the Set Member/Service Rate button.
Calculation method - Fixed project rate:
With this option, the billable amount of the project is calculated on a fixed hourly rate for the entire project, regardless of who does what.
Budget type - per task list:
If you choose this budget type, you will need to set a different calculation method for each of your task lists:
