Labels are visual indicators that can be associated with tasks. You can use them to organize and categorize your tasks, focus on a specific action to take, or keep track of related tasks (all the tasksrelated to a release, for example). Labels also help to make certain aspects of your workflow more visible and to set apart tasks that are blocked or need discussion.

Labels are specific to a particular project.

How to manage labels

Labels are created and managed from the task itself:

The label management popup screen allows you to change, deactivate or delete an existing label:

But most of all, Nutcache lets you create your own labels based on your business needs.

How to create new labels

From the label management popup, click the + Label link:

Name the label, choose a color, and make sure the label's status is set to active:

IMPORTANT NOTE
An inactive label can no longer be added to a task. However, it will remain active for tasks that already contain that label. Similarly, a label that is already assigned to a task can not be deleted. It must first be removed from the task before it can be deleted.

How to add a label to a task

Adding a label to a task is a very simple and quick operation. All you need to do is locate the label you wish to add from the list and click it. It will add itself automatically to the task.

How to remove a label from a task

To remove a label from a task, click open the label management popup and click the label to deselect it from the list.

How to use the filter option

The filter option has 2 main functions: searching for a label among existing labels, but also creating new labels. To filter the labels, start typing the first letters of a label name and the list of labels will display accordingly.

If you search for a label that does not exist, the filter field lets you create a new label simply by hitting Enter from your keyboard:
